Tenor Gatekeepers

Quintum Gatekeeper software can be added to any existing Quintum GW or can be bought desperately to run in dedicated hardware. Note: The Quintum A & D series gateways do include the GK functionality to manage their own ports.

Option for Tenor CMS Switches
The gatekeeper upgrade option increases the number of simultaneous VoIP calls that can be supported by the integrated gatekeeper of Tenor CMS switches. No gatekeeper is supplied with the CMS Base System. If an integrated gatekeeper is required one or more gatekeeper options must be ordered. Gatekeeper options may be combined, in 120 port increments, to support the desired number of VoIP ports for the zone controlled by the gatekeeper.

Standalone Tenor Gatekeeper
Tenor Gatekeeper gives enterprises and service providers a large capacity standalone H.323 compliant gatekeeper for VoIP networks. The Tenor Gatekeeper provides the call routing and administration for all the H.323 VoIP endpoints in your network, including gateways, IP phones and PC clients.

The Tenor Gatekeeper has the unique ability to dynamically self configure the VoIP routing database. It will also support static routing to provide connectivity to endpoints that are outside of your VoIP network. The advanced call routing enables the Tenor Gatekeeper to provide load balancing among multiple gateways. The Tenor Gatekeeper also provides for authentication/ authorization of all calls in your VoIP network.


Product Description

Tenor GateKeeper Base System
Stand-alone H.323 compliant gatekeeper for use with larger networks of Tenor switches and other H.323 compliant devices. Base system must be purchased with a minimum of either a 20 port, or a 100 port upgrade option. The GateKeeper can be expanded to support up to 800 H.323 endpoints and 4,000 DN/IP database entries by additional software upgrades.

Tenor Gatekeeper Configurations
Every analog or digital series (A204/A400/A800 and D1000/D2000/D3000) Tenor is capable of managing a small network of up to four Tenor switches without requiring a gatekeeper.

When using a Tenor to manage larger networks, or networks of devices other than Tenor switches, it is necessary to upgrade the Tenor to an integrated gatekeeper configuration by purchasing gatekeeper upgrade options GK-20 or GK-100. The “Integrated” gatekeeper is the gatekeeper built into all Tenor VoIP MultiPath Switches. Its capacity is determined by the combination of Call Capacity Options (GK-20 or GK-100) that are added to the Tenor. The size of the gatekeeper required can be determined by counting the number of VoIP endpoints (ports) in the VoIP network zone to be managed by the gatekeeper. The GK-20 and/or GK-100 upgrade options can then be combined to support a number of ports equal to, or larger than, the total number of VoIP ports in the zone.

The “Stand-alone” gatekeeper consists of the Tenor GateKeeper base system plus any additional call capacity upgrade options.
