There are basically two types of Soft Switches currently provided by CommsConnect:

1) PortaSwitch : consists of B2BUA, SER and Registrar. Fully integrated to the billing system. The Routing/Carrier rates are utilized for LCR routing and preference based routing.

2) Quintum Softswitch: consists of CRS (Call Routing Server) and Call Relay. It can do both H323 and SIP. Routing is controlled by destination/rate entries on CRS.
