Introducing Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 Compatibility

Quintum is proud to announce that its Tenor VoIP Gateway and VoIP MultiPath Switch products have been certified by Microsoft for use with the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 unified communications suite. Tenor products are software compatible with the Microsoft Mediation Server and provide the gatewaying capability to enable the OCS2007 environment to interface with the local analog or digital PSTN connections and legacy telephony infrastructure.

The new Tenor Hybrid Gateway 60 has also been introduced to provide a single box integrated solution for interfacing OCS2007 with the PSTN and legacy telephony infrastructure. It is ideal for use by small to medium enterprises which are migrating to Microsoft based unified communications.

Comms Connect has introduced a number of comprehensive support packages for customers who are installing Tenor VoIP gateways and MultiPath Switches for use with OCS2007 unified communications systems. These one-price packages dramatically simplify implementation and support of Tenor VoIP Switches and Gateways for customers who are migrating to the OCS2007 Platform. cclogo Quintum White Paper "VoIP Infrastructure for the Evolving Enterprise"

Because of the continued evolution of enterprise IT, managers responsible for corporate VoIP implementations have a variety of concerns. Among these top concerns are:

    - Network architecture/infrastructure
    - Reliable VoIP trunking
    - Minimizing total cost of ownership
    - Mitigating risk
    - Service vulnerabilities

These are just a few of several examples. Quintum has been successfully addressing such issues for enterprises dealing with VoIP for nearly ten years. Their effective approach to supporting customers' changing needs has made it the second-leading provider of VoIP gateways and switches in the industry. To view the full white paper, click here. cclogo PortaOne Backup Policy

PortaOne owners should have a backup policy along the lines listed below:

Basically, PortaOne's recommendation is that since there are 2 servers (Master and Slave) with mirroring hard drives, doing a daily backup of the database should be ok.

Master Server:

/var/< company >/DB_BAK/< mysql dump files > ; backup daily via mysqldump command on the Master server and rotate every 30 days; copy daily to external harddisk (USB) or another server and rotate every 15 days.

Slave Server:

/var/< company >/< all folders and files here > ; backup once a month to external harddisk (USB) or another server.
/home/porta-admin/< all folders and files here> ; backup once a month to external harddisk (USB) or another server.

**** Use a batch shell script to do this task, ie backup.sh which will include all files/folders and tar them ****

Scenario 1: Master hardware fails and the root of the problem could not be determined

    - Install from Porta CD
    - PortaOne will do post install
    - Copy database from Slave database (if slave is bad then restore from the latest mysql dump backup)

Scenario 2: Slave hardware fails and couldn’t be determined where the issue is
    - Install from Porta CD
    - PortaOne will do post install
    - Copy database from Master (if master is bad then restore from the latest mysql dump backup)
    - Copy above mentioned files and folders from the backed up server
